Job description
Resorts at Chester River Manor is in immediate need of highly motivated, extremely efficient, and hard-working Linen & Laundry Worker / Aide. As this position is a demanding one, positivity, being seasoned, respectful and passionate are an absolute must. The ideal laundry aide must demonstrate exemplary teamwork on a daily basis. Reliability, punctuality, consistency, and compassion are key to healthily contributing to the facility’s work culture.
Hard-working, passionate, and highly efficient candidates with prior Linen / Laundry experience are highly encouraged to apply.
The position requires the ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment where multitasking is often of necessity. Supplemental work tasks may be assigned.
Duties include :
Handles chemicals and solutions per departmental and material safety data sheet standards error free and efficiently.
Readily and efficiently supplies the facility's laundered linen and resident clothing to the floor and linen closets.
Separates, sorts, organizes, launders, and disseminates resident clothing to their appropriate destination.
Assisting in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the laundry rooms.
Cleans all areas using the cleaning procedure as outlined in orientation and department policy and procedures.
Operates washer and dryer machines safely and appropriately and transports timely clean linen and clothing.
Other duties as assigned by EVS Supervisor or crew leader, and must possess a willingness to adapt to changing departmental demands..
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications :
Demonstrate a positive attitude with the ability to follow oral and written instructions, and perform routine, repetitive tasks daily.
Maintains a high standard of efficiency and productivity with linen / laundry.
Follows command and guidance of the EVS Supervisor.
Represents the department in a positive manner to residents, visitors, and other facility personnel.
Adheres to safety regulations as outlined in departmental / facility policy and procedures.
Demonstrates ability to identify and resolve interpersonal conflicts constructively when dealing with staff, residents, and visitors.. Displays patience and tact when dealing with other hospital personnel. Utilizes appropriate department chain of command in resolving complaints, grievances, or problems accurately.
Reports equipment needing repair to supervisor quickly.
Follow cleaning schedules and ensure all assigned areas are cleaned thoroughly.
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies, as required by State and local
Prior laundry experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Applicant must be able to communicate in English.
Applicant willing to work PRN or as needed highly useful
After completing all appropriate training, utilize leadership skills to accomplish all responsibilities without supervision and do so without injury to oneself or other individuals.
