What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teaching Intern position at Resound Future Bilingual Educators Network?
Position: Teaching Intern for Learn & Play Language Classes
Resound Educators’ Teaching Interns will be trained to lead our Learn & Play Language classes for kids. These are typically 30-45 minute classes that run once a week for 6 weeks at after school programs in Charlotte, NC and surrounding towns. Our classes are designed to help kids develop a love of learning languages in a fun and effective way.
Compensation: Stipend of $300
Application Deadline: May 31st
Commitment: 6-8 hours of training & planning in the fall, 8-10 hours of prep & teaching in the spring
Benefits: Interns will gain connections to bilingual peers and leaders in the community, explore teaching as a career, and provide meaningful language learning and cultural engagement for younger students.
Requirements: The ideal intern is willing to learn, responsible, and enjoys working with kids. Interns must have at least conversational proficiency in one of the languages below in order to qualify. Interns must attend orientation and training to prepare for their teaching internship experiences and commit to delivering their classes with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Eligibility: Interns must be high school sophomores or juniors or college students with speaking skills in any of the following languages*:

- Portuguese
- Hindi
- German
- Burmese/ Myanmasa
- Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese)
