Cable Installer Technician (Honolulu HI, Hybrid)

My client, who is in Honolulu, HI, is looking for an Installer Technician (Unlicensed / Licensed). This is a hybrid role.

Responsibility :

  • Plan and configure communication infrastructure installations
  • Install CAT6 and fiber optic cabling system
  • Install data, wireless, and video products
  • Test and document to ensure quality of service
  • Analyze and resolve communication issues in a timely and accurate manner

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years experience in cable installation (Copper and Fiber of different size and type)
  • Knowledge and experience in installation of cable Infrastructure, J Hooks, Cable Trays and other pathways
  • Knowledge and experience in termination and testing Cat 6, and 6a Copper Cabling (RJ45 Jacks and Patch Panels)
  • Knowledge and experience in termination and testing Multi-mode and Single-mode Fiber Optic Cabling (htmelt, Unicam, Fusion splicing, etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience in following applicable OSHA safety procedures and ability to work in confined spaces
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, fire codes, building codes and procedures
  • BICSI installation certification is desirable

    • Work Conditions :

  • Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines
  • Participate in training sessions, presentations, meetings
  • Ability to lift heavy to moderate equipment and tools
  • Not afraid of heights and ability to climb ladders
