Resource 1 is seeking a Sr. Business Analyst for a long-term contract position with our client in Chicago, Illinois. Individual must be local to Illinois and able to work onsite 2-3 days per week (Tues-Thurs) in downtown Chicago. Should have 5-7 years of experience working as a Business Analyst and ideally some experience with MS Dynamics 365 or another similar ERP. Our client is undergoing a multi-year (estimated 3-5) financial transformation initiative, which includes the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O and CE to replace over 200 legacy applications. The current phase is focused on building a sandbox environment for a Proof of Concept (POC), including testing of business-critical use cases and identifying solution gaps. The Sr. Business Analyst will join a small but highly collaborative core team supporting this effort, working alongside business stakeholders, implementation partners, and technical leads.
Responsibilities:
- Document requirements, use cases/ user stories, UAT test cases, and test acceptance criteria.
- Lead and support fit-gap analysis, business process discovery, and documentation for current/ future states.
- Collaborate with implementation vendors to validate deliverables against the Statement of Work (SOW).
- Assist with coordinating and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including executing test cases based on specific business functions within a sandbox environment.
- Facilitate and support hybrid project management activities (Waterfall/ Agile) such as daily standups, meeting coordination, and document tracking using Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Identify missing processes or unexpected requirements through ongoing interaction with stakeholders.
- Participate in design sessions and demos.
- Validate documentation generated by implementation partner/ vendor.
Requirements:
- 5-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst in enterprise-level IT or ERP transformation projects.
- Prior experience supporting ERP implementations (Dynamics 365 preferred).
- Proficiency in Azure DevOps (ADO) for task tracking, user stories, and test case management.
- Must be self-directed, proactive, eager to learn, and adaptable, with the ability to navigate a complex business environment with limited supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to coordinate across technical and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O or CE.
- Familiarity with enterprise business processes including Finance, Supply Chain, and AP/AR.
- Working knowledge of Jira or other task management tools.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid Waterfall/ Agile delivery environment.
- Background working with complex business structures and multiple stakeholder groups.
- Experience in manufacturing and/or distribution sector.
