As the Assistant Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead by example, coach and develop our Store Associates, and ensure that every store member (customer) enjoys a friendly, welcoming, and efficient shopping experience. You’ll also take the lead in important operational areas, from managing the Point of Sale (PoS) system to overseeing large-scale sales events. What You’ll Do:
- Provide top-tier service to store members, ensuring a friendly, welcoming atmosphere while assisting with product selections, inquiries, and the check-out process.
- Step into the role of Manager on Duty when assigned, making executive decisions, leading meetings, and maintaining accountability in the store.
- Oversee daily PoS activities, including opening, closing, and reconciling the system, ensuring smooth transactions.
- Drive sales by managing and selling high-value/unique donated items on RAFT’s Facebook Marketplace.
- Play a key role in organizing and supporting multiple large-scale sales events and membership drives throughout the year.
- Implement and train Store Associates on RAFT’s customer experience programs, providing feedback and on-the-spot coaching to ensure the highest standards.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to address customer complaints and feedback, ensuring a positive resolution.
- Develop weekly staff schedules and support with attendance monitoring and timecard approvals.
- Work with warehouse staff to receive, process deliveries, and ensure the sales floor is stocked and neatly displayed.
- Maintain a clean and safe retail environment, including handling trash removal as needed.
- Organize and oversee sales and product demonstrations to enhance the shopping experience.
- Lead and supervise Store Associates, providing regular feedback, training, and coaching to foster a high-performance team.
What We’re Looking For:
- 1-2 years of previous retail experience, with a solid understanding of customer service best practices.
- High school diploma required
- An associate’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with staff, customers, and management.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently with limited supervision.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to solve problems on the fly.
- Strong time management skills to meet deadlines and objectives.
- Ability to use warehouse equipment like pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Availability to work Tuesday through Sunday, with some evening shifts as needed.
