The lead teacher plays a pivotal role in delivering an engaging STEAM curriculum, collaborating closely with staff counselors to create thrilling and interactive experiences for campers. This is a perfect opportunity for an educator with exceptional classroom management skills to make a lasting impact while upholding RAFT's high standards for camp facilitation.
This is a temporary position with the opportunity to work 30 to 40 hours per week, depending on the camp site. This role comes with a competitive hourly pay range of $55.00 to $58.00, plus a $200 stipend for completing training and the hiring process on time.

Sample of responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Curriculum Facilitation:
- Deliver RAFT's STEAM curriculum, making adaptations as needed to maximize camper engagement.
Classroom Management:
- Manage a classroom of up to 20 campers, fostering a collaborative and fun learning environment conducive to group activities.
Training & Preparation:
- Participate in at least 9 hours of onboarding training, professional development, and staff meetings before camp starts.
Classroom Environment:
- Establish and maintain a clean, organized classroom by instilling good habits of cleanliness in students.
Minimal Supervision:
- Operate with minimal supervision from the Site director at the assigned site.
Debrief:
- Participate in after-camp debrief sessions and surveys.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- Provide supervisory support for 1-2 Teaching Assistants assigned to assist with learning activities.
Requirements:
- CBEST, valid California Teaching Credential, or enrollment in/completion of a teaching credential program.
- One or more years of experience in teaching or managing student programs.
- TB Risk Assessment & Fingerprint clearance.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Genuine interest in working with young children in a K-5 education setting.
- Availability to commit to at least one week, five days a week.
- Ability to quickly learn and facilitate new materials.
- Creative, patient, and positive demeanor.
- Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
