What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Director (Spring & Summer 2025) position at Resource Area for Teaching?
Inspire and lead young minds as the Site Director for RAFT's STEAM Intersession and Camp Programs. In this role, you will collaborate with our RAFT Program Leadership team to ensure smooth daily operations, create a safe and engaging camp environment, and uphold the highest standards, leaving a lasting impact on every camper.
This is a temporary position with the opportunity to work 30 to 40 hours per week, depending on the camp site. This role comes with a competitive weekly pay range of $2,000 to $2,400, plus a $600 stipend for completing training and the hiring process on time.

Sample of responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Day-to-Day Camp Operations:
- Implement RAFT camp guidelines and standards, including emergency procedures and disciplinary actions.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, medical information, and authorized pick-up lists.
- Oversee daily camp operations, including check-in/out processes, class activities, outdoor events, surveys, and the last-day showcase.
- Ensure all staff break calendars are scheduled in advance, balancing coverage needs with fair rest periods to maintain a productive and healthy work environment.
- Keep the RAFT education team informed of any updates or issues.
Family Communication:
- Provide timely and supportive communication to parents through email, phone, and in-person interactions.
- Manage email communications with parents, including invitations for the end-of-week showcase.
Facility Maintenance:
- Act as the main point of contact on site for facility-related concerns.
- Collaborate with the site IT coordinator to resolve tech/wifi issues.
- Coordinate with the site janitor to maintain cleanliness in the classroom and common area.
Training and Coordination:
- Participate in a minimum of 9 hours of onboarding, professional development, and staff meetings before camp starts.
- Engage in after-camp debrief sessions.
- Take on additional coordinating responsibilities as needed.
Staff Management:
- Lead and empower staff through supervision and feedback to help them excel in their roles.
- Track daily staffing needs and attendance. Document and communicate issues and concerns with the RAFT team.
Requirements:
- Minimum of two years of student program management experience.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- TB Risk Assessment & Fingerprint clearance.
