What are the responsibilities and job description for the Professional Geologist position at Resource Environmental Management Inc?
Resource Environmental Management is seeking a Professional Geologist for our geological services department. In Resource, each Professional Geologist serves as the focal point for several Resource customers and coordinates the execution of their work with other members of the Resource team. The Professional Geologist role is typically 40% field / 60% office work.
Job Functions:
1. Planning and co-ordination
- Plan the environmental geological aspects of a large project or several smaller projects
- Manage the relationship with assigned Resource customers, and provide updates and summaries as required
- Prepare subsurface investigations including drilling, sampling and geophysical testing
2. Report Writing
- Prepare reports in a clear and concise manner
- Prepare and submit regulatory filings
- Delegate, to the greatest degree possible, the creation of reports and filings
- Seal reports and filings as required
3. Mentoring and Coaching
- Mentor and coach Geological Specialists and Geological Technicians
4. Emergency Response
- Participate as a member of Resource’s Emergency Response team
- Participate in the on-call rotation
Requirements:
Candidates require a bachelor's degree in Geology or equivalent discipline, hold a Pennsylvania Professional Geologist Licence as Certified by ASBOG, and a valid driver's license.
In addition, candidates should:
Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
Must be able to traverse rugged terrain while wearing PPE
Resource operates a structured performance assessment program with annual compensation reviews and staff are given the opportunity to progress their careers in their chosen area of interest.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
