Job Title: Nursery Production Worker
This position supports the growth and development of native plants and seeds through various horticultural activities at the direction of a supervisor. The role is located at our nursery in Wisconsin.
Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced individual to manage all aspects of native plant and seed propagation, production, growing, and inventory control from start to finish.
- Coordinate order fulfillment to meet customer needs.
- Assist with propagation and transplanting activities in the greenhouse environment.
- Supervise cultivation activities of outdoor seed production fields.
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of containerized plants and seed production fields.
- Participate in or lead harvest of seed and plant materials.
- Oversee seed processing according to established standards.
- Lead team members in chemical and manual weed control procedures in seed production fields, containerized plants, and off-site locations.
- Manage inventory counts and records maintenance.
- Support relocation of stock, seed, and plant order preparation.
- Perform general housekeeping tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A high school degree or equivalent is required.
- Prior experience working in natural resources field operations, agriculture, or farming is highly recommended.
- Strong ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- A valid driver's license may be required for this position.
- Applicants must be able to obtain a Federal Medical Card if necessary.
