What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Manager position at Resource Erectors?
SUMMARY :
The Safety Manager is the leader of safety systems and aptitudes for the company. The company ensures safety as one of the key capabilities and activities within annual production plans as well as our long-range strategic plan. The Safety Manager partners with Plant and Fleet Managers to ensure we have a safety mindset in all that we do and that our safety practices are ethical and legal.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Lead and inspire the safety functions and accountability for the company. This requires traveling to quarry and processing sites to perform audits, train staff, and work with Mining Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Also, proficiency in understanding and complying with MSHA and OSHA regulations. Additionally responsible for safe driver training for company semi-truck drivers.
- Implement projects related to our safety programs such as hiring background and physical standard checks, signage, safety equipment purchases and more. Leads safe driving training for salaried employees who drive company vehicles. Leads planning for each company owned location for severe weather preparedness.
- Participate in operations management strategy discussions with plant teams and company leadership.
