Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology-related discipline such as Computer Science or Management Information Systems, or equivalent work experience (military experience considered).
Experience:
- 10 years of software development and/or business systems analysis experience
- 3 years working in an Agile-oriented delivery model
- 3 years working with public cloud services, preferably Amazon Web Services
- A team member of 1 or more large-scale transformation programs
- Experience in the annuities industry, or a similar insurance or financial services domain is highly preferred but not required
Skills:
- Must have demonstrated expertise in business systems analysis concepts and techniques, including requirements elicitation and impact analysis, with a heavy emphasis on creating documentation and artifacts that span business-focused (i.e., business process diagrams, use case diagrams, interaction diagrams and models) and technology-focused (reference architecture diagrams, conceptual architecture diagrams, logical architecture diagrams, conceptual data models) artifacts
- Strong Visio skills or other visual modeling / diagramming tools (e.g., Gliffy, Lucidchart)
- Strong SQL skills
- Data Mapping experience, including defining source and target data elements and transformation rules. Experience can be in a tool as simple as Microsoft Excel or an enterprise software package, but need to be able to perform the activity of data mapping regardless of the documentation tool
- API design concepts and general experience with APIs, specifically defining request and response payloads in JSON and XML
- This position will not write code, but any experience writing Python or generally being able to read and understand code is very nice to have. We want this individual to have meaningful and detail-oriented conversations and discussions with application architects and software developers
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong relationship development skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and team members
