We are currently recruiting for a talented, experienced Art Manager to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for formulating concepts and managing the execution of layout designs for art work and copy to be presented by visual communications for labels and packaging. You will supervise the PrePress Technicians, and Plate Makers, as well as managing the art printing schedule. The ideal will have a high attention to detail and excel with managing completing deadlines. Similar experience in a printing environment is preferred, label experience is a huge plus!
Responsibilities
Reviews illustrative material and confers with customer or individual responsible for project regarding budget, background information, objectives, styles, techniques and related production factors.
Assigns and directs staff members to develop design concepts into art layouts and prepare layouts for printing.
Maintains understanding of personnel and departmental capacity in order to delegate work orders and fulfill the daily schedule requirement.
Responds to the Press Room to ensure color management and best practices of narrow web, flexo and indigo printing processes.
Establishes and maintains compliance to GMP and Standard Operator Procedures for the art and digital departments.
Reviews, approves and presents final layouts to client or individual responsible for approval
Identifying best practices for pre-press, digital printing and digital finishing while continuously looking at process improvement.
Develops and maintains quality assurance systems for all areas of responsibility.
Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Is responsible for the overall direction, scheduling, coordination and evaluation of this unit.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience working in a printing, packaging or similar industry is preferred, label experience is a huge plus.
At least two years of experience in a supervisory role, leading a team in art, graphic or similar capacity.
Pay - Depending on experience.
