Position Overview: A Machine Technician is responsible for programming/setting up, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. This role involves working with various types of equipment to ensure their proper setup and programming and requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- New equipment set up: This role will specifically be working with new equipment, including setting up and programming equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including lubrication, cleaning, and filter changes. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment.
- Operation: Operate and monitor machinery to ensure it is functioning correctly. Adjust machine settings to optimize performance.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with machinery. This may involve disassembling machines, replacing defective parts, and reassembling them.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities. Document any changes made to machine settings or components.
- Safety: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in a related field is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience as a machine technician or in a similar role. Familiarity with machines and other industrial equipment and technology.
Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams. Proficiency with hand and power tools.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
