Store Manager- Reuse

ReSOURCE is an innovative non-profit organization with the mission to empower individuals and strengthen Vermont communities through workforce development, poverty relief, and environmental stewardship. The Store Manager fulfills this mission by creating a marketplace for reuse while providing new opportunities to the under-skilled and long-term unemployed.

Our community recognizes the value of donating excess goods, and its positive effects for our environment. ReSOURCE prevents more than 1,000 tons of material from ending up in our landfills each year by finding new homes for major appliances, building materials, computers, electronics, furniture, and other household goods donated to our stores.

What you’ll do:

As the Store Manager for our brand new Morrisville location, you’ll fight climate change by keeping reusable materials out of the landfill, oversee the display and sale of store merchandise to meet or exceed sales budgets, and work with the General Manager to promote and market ReSOURCE Store Morrisville. The store is open Monday through Saturday, 9 AM – 5PM.

The Store Manager will work in our ReSOURCE Household Goods Store in Morrisville. This is an hourly position that reports to the General Manager and will supervise Store Lead, Store Clerks, and volunteer positions.

The Store Manager is an integral part of the management team, not just for the Morrisville store, but also more broadly as part of ReSOURCE's management team. The successful applicant will demonstrate a commitment to providing clear communication and support to the store team (both employees and volunteers).

The Store Manager will oversee the display and sale of store merchandise to meet or exceed sales budgets, and work with the General Manager to promote and market ReSOURCE Store Morrisville. The Store Manager will maintain and develop effective and efficient operating procedures and policies that reflect the organization’s commitment to reuse, job skill training and poverty relief.

Goals of Position

• Manage a reuse operation in Lamoille County modeled on ReSOURCE’s mission.
• Create a safe environment for all employees by implementing policies and practices that are embraced and practiced by all of ReSOURCE.
• Deliver excellent customer service.
• Guide a retail operation through facility renovations while maximizing sales revenue through effective pricing and strategic merchandising of goods.
• Maintain and develop a well run, professional, safe, clean and profitable reuse retail store with satisfied customers and smooth flowing systems and procedures.
• Make ReSOURCE a valuable resource for all people in the community.
• Provide training opportunities for trainees enrolled in ReSOURCE’s training programs.
• Eliminate avoidable wasted time, effort and energy at every opportunity.
• Support the mission of ReSOURCE.

Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience in retail management (at least 3 years).
• Experience leading/supervising/training others.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Cash management experience.
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to receive and give constructive feedback.
• Positive, cooperative team spirit.
• Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to use them with a variety of audiences.
• Commitment to ReSOURCE’s mission.
