Summary: A Data Entry Clerk job involves accurately and efficiently inputting, updating, and managing data in computer systems or databases, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Entry:
- Accurately enter data from various sources (paper, electronic files, etc.) into databases or spreadsheets.
- Type quickly and accurately, maintaining a high level of precision.
- Verify data for accuracy and completeness, correcting errors as needed.
Data Management:
- Organize and maintain digital and paper files.
- Update and maintain existing data in databases.
- Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation.
Other Duties:
- Do cycle count weekly, participate in tracking of inventory.
- Assist with generating reports from data as needed.
- Communicate with team members to clarify data requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
- May involve preparing spreadsheets, sorting data, or performing other clerical tasks.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Prior experience in data entry or a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Excellent typing speed and accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) or similar software.
- Familiarity with database systems or CRM platforms is a plus.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
