What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experience Center Tour Guide position at ResourceMFG?
Toyota Experience Center Ambassadors serve to advance the mission of Toyota’s Experience Center and manufacturing facility by conducting guided tours of the Toyota plant for visitors of all ages. Leveraging excellent interpersonal communication, storytelling and premier customer service skills, ambassadors will educate guests about Toyota’s core values, employment opportunities, community initiatives and the company’s vision for the future of mobility. In this role, ambassadors will be required to narrate scripted tours and safely drive electric trams in a high-paced manufacturing environment. Ambassadors must be energetic, enthusiastic, willing to learn and able to take feedback for continuous improvement. Successful ambassadors will have an interest in working with people—especially students—and be willing to work on an array of projects, tasks and contribute to the team with ideas and a can-do attitude. Experience in education or in customer service and automotive manufacturing can be helpful but not required.
What You'll Do:
- Schedule tour reservations via phone and online registration system
- Perform community outreach via phone, email or in-person to build clientele
- Use, create or train with electronic documents and email system daily (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Support public tours by driving an electric tram or narrating up to four tours daily
- Prepare and clean PPE, trams and equipment daily
- Aid in the loading and unloading tour guests from trams and shuttles (where applicable)
- Give oral presentations in front of large, diverse groups of people
- Prepare tour/event materials, room set-ups, facility needs, etc.
- Follow safety guidelines and ensure that guests remain within designated areas
- Contribute to idea creation and problem solving for the Experience Center operations
- Other duties as assigned
What You Need:
- Must be 18 years old and possess a high school diploma
- Computer experience—primarily Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent interpersonal communication, customer service and problem-solving skills
- Ability to speak in front of diverse groups of people—age, background, education, etc.
- Ability to work with all levels within the organization
- Must have current driver’s license
When You’ll Work:
- Part-time, Tuesday through Thursday—max of 20 hours per week
- Flexibility to work occasional Monday or Friday with some evenings and Saturdays throughout year
