Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 Years optics experience
- Able to use basic hand and power tools
- Basic math
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Ability to identify problems
- Able to multi-task
- Attention to detail
- Able to read ruler/tape measure
- Basic computer skills
Job Responsibilities
- Performs basic shaping process steps on medium difficult parts.
- Beveling – capable of fabricating polished, double, and off-angle asymmetric bevels
- Blocking – pitch button, Norland transfer, steep singles, cold blocking, contacting, and alignment
- Grinding – Steep radius, cylinder, tight wedge, continuous
- Polishing – spindle, CP, double side, CNC polish
- Slurry Maintenance – maintains and measures established Baume and PH levels
- Pour pitch lap, cuts, and grooves lap
- Advanced print reading skills – can read and comprehend all fabrication specs
- Measurement skills include – Basic Zygo, understanding of fringe pattern, microscope, stereoscope, surface quality inspection, fiber light
- Performs other duties as assigned
