We are seeking an experienced press brake setup operator / metal fabricator to join our company. The position consists of forming sheet metal components using press brakes. You will perform complex setups, develop methods to achieve the desired outcome, and operate various tonnage press brakes in a productive and safe manner to produce parts that meet company and customer quality requirements. The position also requires the selection of the appropriate die for the part, force parameters, determining bend allowances, and programming controllers.
- Develop part layout and plan the sequence of operations, applying knowledge of trigonometry, stock allowances for thickness, machine and welding shrinkage and physical properties of various metals.
- Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters and drill presses.
- Design and construct templates and fixtures.
- Verify conformance of workpiece to specifications using square, ruler and measuring tape.
- May fabricate and assemble sheet metal products.
- May set up and operate machine tools associated with fabricating shops, such as radial drill press, end mill and edge plane.
