Job Summary:
In this position, you’ll be responsible for analyzing accounts in the Balance Sheet and Income Statement to ensure accurate reporting. You’ll also manage daily updates of bank transaction accounts and assist with various financial reporting tasks. Your contributions will help keep our accounting operations running smoothly and efficiently!
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Bank Account Reconciliation: Identify daily activity in bank accounts and reconcile them for multiple corporate entities.
- Journal Entries: Prepare, analyze, and record journal entries into the ERP system and the company’s general ledger accounting software.
- Financial Reports: Assist with the preparation and analysis of various reports provided to management, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial data.
- Month-End and Year-End Assistance: Support the preparation of month-end financial statements and assist with year-end audits.
- Balance Sheet and Income Statement Analysis: Analyze and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- General Ledger Review: Perform regular reviews of the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Accounts Payable Support: Code accounts payable transactions and ensure they are recorded properly in the system. Review exceptions on accounts payable invoices vs. purchase orders.
- Additional Tasks: Assist with other responsibilities as assigned by the Accounting and Reporting Manager.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in general accounting and financial reporting.
- Technical Skills: Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; ability to quickly learn and utilize the company’s accounting and reporting system.
- Language Skills: Bilingual in English/Spanish is a must.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with the ability to reconcile and analyze financial information.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work under pressure and extended hours when necessary, especially during month-end and year-end closing periods.
- Self-Motivated: A proactive individual with a great attitude and the ability to learn new tasks quickly.
- Professionalism: Excellent communication skills with internal and external customers, and proficiency in handling office equipment (telephone, fax, scan, photocopy).
