Requirements:
- 5 or more years of experience in the utility industry, focusing on automation and smart grid devices.
- Proficiency in programming SEL relays or similar smart grid devices.
- Experience in troubleshooting device communications and operations in distribution systems.
- Experience with distribution/transmission protection, control systems, and relay testing.
- Experience in remotely programming reclosers, cap banks, and downstream protection settings.
- Experience with programming systems to support new installations and failed equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Remotely program reclosers, cap banks, and protective devices on distribution lines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with device communications and operational failures.
- Configure and update systems to support new installations and equipment replacements.
- Ensure downstream protection settings are updated and functioning correctly.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize protection and control systems.
- Conduct relay testing and validate proper functionality of smart grid devices.
- Maintain accurate records of programming changes, troubleshooting, and system updates.
