What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemical Process Engineer position at ResourceTek, LLC?
ResourceTek is actively recruiting for a Chemical Process Engineer for a client based out of Gainesville, FL. This is a long-term contract opportunity with our client.
Mid-level (8 to 12 years) chemical or mechanical engineer with experience in executing capital projects within the chemical industry. This role would be similar to that of a project engineer, so a diverse knowledge of all discipline design activities required to execute projects is desired. Selected individual would be required to be on-site a high percentage of time to interact with the chemical plant engineering staff on our client’s behalf. Most of the processes are covered by OSHA 1910.119 Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements, so an intimate knowledge of OSHA PSM would be preferred.
Specific activities would include, but not be limited to the following:
Interacting with client personnel to develop project scope and definition
Generating Microsoft Project schedules across multiple projects to coordinate and baseline client personnel and contractor activities
Developing RFQ’s for design activities and interacting with client staff to execute and coordinate that work
Work with client personnel to develop preferred vendor lists for equipment and instrumentation
Work with client personnel to obtain quotes for equipment and instrumentation and generate bid tabulations of those quotes
Work with client procurement to procure and then expedite purchase orders
Receive, QA and manage equipment deliveries to the site
Work with client personnel to obtain contractor bids for the work associated with the capital project
Coordinate project construction activities with operations personnel
Maintain records for PSM requirements
Work with client personnel to plan and coordinate commissioning activities
Other activities as needed to get the project executed and complete
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in mechanical or chemical engineering
Experience working at chemical facilities
Process Safety Management (PSM) experience
Osha 10 certified
