We specialize in providing technical recruitment and staffing services to industry and government in all areas of Engineering, Information Technology, and a broad range of other Technical disciplines.
In partnership with our client, a tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry, ResourceTek is seeking Die Maintenance Group Lead to join their team near Huntsville, AL. This is a direct hire opportunity.
SUMMARY
Coordinate activities of team members to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing operations while promoting a team environment and improving all methods. Provide leadership and technical support to the department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ensures safety of self and others by following all Safety Policies/Procedures and wearing all required PPE.
Plan and coordinate work to ensure high quality stamping operations through die repair and maintenance.
- Manage team members time and attendance and perform coaching as necessary to improve attendance and turnover.
- Requires advanced expertise in tool & die repair skills and strong knowledge of metal forming.
- Solve complex problems with die repair and coach / mentor team members.
- Plan and coordinate training to continually enhance skills of team.
- Communicate effectively with team members, managers and other departments.
- Foster teamwork to achieve overall company goals.
- Aid team members in solving problems / concerns that affect their performance.
- Track data to manage Key Performance Indicators.
- Maintain strong 5S in the work area.
- Create and maintain standardized work.
- Seek continuous improvement of processes, procedures, delivery of work.
- Maintain behaviors consistent with company values and policies.
- Report machine or personnel issues to their next direct member of leadership or management.
- Ability to work rotating shift schedule.
- Ability to work overtime hours as needed on short notice.
- Regular Attendance is required.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5 plus years’ experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment; tool and die experience is highly desired.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity; 3-5 years’ previous supervisory experience is preferred.
- Ability to read and follow instructions.
- Ability to read drawings.
- Manual machining capability; CNC machining capability is a plus.
- 2-3 years stamping and metal forming experience preferred.
- Ability to pass mechanical aptitude pre-employment test if required.
- Associate degree in industrial maintenance, tool and die or similar program preferred.
ENVIRONMENT
Work is conducted in an industrial office / plant setting.
Frequent movement throughout an industrial plant environment being exposed to high noise levels and equipment normally used in stamping / welding/ Ecoat environments.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift up to 33lbs.
Prolonged periods of standing on the plant floor.
Able to traverse the plant facility.
