RESPEC is seeking an experienced Business Analyst Level 3 to support a clients Mainframe Transformation Program. This advanced, senior-level role focuses on delivering complex, emerging technology projects including SaaS/COTS software implementation, mainframe data migration, and Data Warehouse development.
This position involves limited supervision, offering the selected candidate considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform senior-level business analysis for emerging technology hardware/software projects.
- Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements.
- Lead process mapping, gap analysis, and workflow redesign.
- Coordinate and facilitate stakeholder and cross-functional team meetings.
- Create high-quality documentation including use cases, mockups, test plans, and traceability matrices.
- Participate in and support user acceptance testing, training, and implementation activities.
- Identify and analyze production support issues and determine root causes.
- Ensure consistency in documentation and alignment with project methodology and standards.
- May lead or supervise the work of junior analysts or contractors.
Required Qualifications:
- 8 years of business analysis experience in software development projects.
- Expertise in creating project documentation and system specifications.
- Proficient with MS Office, Visio, and prototyping tools like SnagIt, Adobe Illustrator, or Axure.
- Strong skills in requirement elicitation, data modeling, and traceability documentation.
- Proven experience facilitating working sessions with technical and business teams.
- Ability to diagnose and document issues related to production support and root cause analysis.
- Skilled in leading user acceptance testing and guiding functional personnel through the process.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with mainframe environments, SQL, Salesforce, Remedyforce, or Java/J2EE.
- Background in process improvement, change management, and workflow optimization.
- Prior experience in the Oil & Gas industry, especially in compliance or enforcement projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Familiarity with data migration and Data Warehousing projects.
- Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills, with ability to resolve conflict.
