Job Title: Staff Nurse
Immediate Supervisor: Nursing Manager
Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Job Summary: Staff Nurses are responsible for the daily medical care provided to the clients including medication administration, medical treatments, and ensuring attendance at medical appointments. The staff nurse is a vital resource to the clients and direct support professionals for medical issues, health status review after behavioral incidents and/or injuries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe administration of medications and treatments as prescribed by the client’s physician.
- Daily review of health records including, but not limited to bowel monitoring, medication administration records, and healthcare plans.
- Respond to acute illnesses and injuries for all clients with comprehensive care and communicate health status to the interdisciplinary team and physician.
- Ensuring client care is meeting the physical, emotional, and social needs of the individual.
- Monitoring the integrity of the healthcare plans, providing education to clients and direct support professionals as appropriate
- Empowerment of clients to participate in their healthcare which includes but is not limited to administering self-administration programs, advocating that they take an active role in their interdisciplinary team meetings, and encouraging choice when appropriate.
Qualifications:
· Unencumbered Practical Nursing License through the Oklahoma Board of Nursing
· One year(s) of nursing experience preferred.
· One year(s) of experience in IDD experience preferred.
· Ability to professionally communicate both orally and in writing.
· Ability to effectively work in Outlook and Microsoft programs.
Certifications:
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Professional Crisis Management certification (or obtained within a specified timeframe).
- Must pass background checks and have a valid driver’s license, as transportation of individuals may be required.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand, sit, bend, lift, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move intermittently. Use hands to handle or feel. Ability to turn on the knees, back, wrist, shoulders, and grasp with both hands. Must be able to frequently lift/move up to 50lbs. and occasionally lift and move more than 50lbs.
· Ability to assist individuals with mobility and other physical needs.
· Mandatory overtime may be required.
Work Hours: This position may require overtime based on client needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The candidate should be flexible and willing to adjust their schedule as needed to ensure client and regulatory success.

Pay: $27.58 - $42.44 per hour
