GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE This position serves as the assistant to the Family Support Services Manager and the first point of contact for families and community members seeking services for a child with a disability or information about Respite Care of San Antonio (RCSA). This position is responsible for high communication between families, service providers, and community partners. This position ensures all family registration files, documentation, and outreach activities exceed agency standards. The Family Support Services Assistant works to ensure every child in care is in a safe, stable, nurturing, and predictable environment so he / she
can reach their fullest potential.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all inquiries and requests for RCSA services.
- Build, track, and maintain a waiting list for Family Support Services.
- Enroll families for RCSA services. Submit packets to the FSS Manager for compliance and ensure maintenance of copies of registration packets for all site-based services (DC, MDO, SA, FDO, PNO, and ABC). Maintain the original of all packets in the RCSA office.
- Maintain a database of current, pending, and / or expired family registrations.
- Register and schedule families for FDO / PNO / ABC / etc. services. Ensure the ‘face sheet,’ child / family, and service information is current and communicated with sites.
- Attend recruiting events as they apply to the operation of the agency, generate referrals for services, and advocate for RCSA programs.
- Provide monthly reports to the Family Support Services Manager.
- Ensure all required information is entered in Apricot.
- Special events assistant when needed.
- Assist the manager with recruiting and retaining families across the agency.
- Communicate with parents / guardians to schedule children for services.
- Perform or assist with other duties and projects as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 21 years of age or older and have favorable findings on background checks to include the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Department of Health, and Texas Department of Family and Protective Services criminal record checks and negative drug test and negative TB test.
High School Diploma or GED Certificate, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum two years’ related experience.
Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish
