Respite Connection is currently seeking a Full-Time or Part-Time Service Supervisor for Spirit Lake and surrounding areas. Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are encouraged to apply! The purpose of the Service Supervisor position is to manage the services for a caseload of individuals receiving services from the ID, HD, CMH and BI Waivers. The services included are SCL (Supported Community Living) and Respite services provided under HCBS Waiver programs (ID/HD/CMH/BI).
Unique Opportunity
This position would cover Spirit Lake as well as surrounding areas. MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL. This position requires experience supervising Supported Community Living services, in addition to a 4-year degree in a Human Service-related field. The applicant must be self-directed and able to work independently. You would be supervising a caseload and coordinating your own schedule to meet the demands of those individuals served. You must be available during most regular business hours (8 am to 5 pm) as well as some evenings.
Position Responsibilities
Provide excellent customer service, with "customer" defined as the individual receiving services, their parents/guardians, direct care staff, case manager/social workers, and co-workers!
Supervise the teaching of skills identified to meet each individual's goals, which can include social skills, personal care skills, money and budgeting skills, safety skills, and being involved in the consumer's community.
Provide orientation and training to direct care staff regarding the specific needs and goals of individuals receiving services.
Review the documentation for services to ensure it is in compliance with federal and state regulations.
-Coordinate services with case managers and other agencies as necessary.
Provide reports to case managers and to parents/guardians identifying the interventions staff used to teach goals and the consumer's response to those interventions. Reports include an assessment of the progress made towards goals.
Requirements
Skills/Experience/Education
Must have excellent communication skills and a passion for ensuring quality care to children and adults with physical and/or mental disabilities.
Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to self-motivate, as well as motivate others (direct care staff).
Be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
BA degree in a human service-related field such as social work, psychology, education, etc. required.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Prior experience with HCBS Waivers strongly preferred
Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a good driving record.
