Position Overview

Resplendent Agency is looking for a talented and experienced Account Executive with a strong background in the food and beverage industry, specifically in the Austin market. The ideal candidate will have exceptional media relations skills, an in-depth knowledge of local industry trends, and a proven track record of delivering successful PR results for clients in Austin. In this role, you will be responsible for executing client campaigns, building and maintaining media relationships, crafting compelling brand narratives, and providing strategic counsel to our clients. This is a unique opportunity to work with leading brands and contribute to their growth and success within Austin's vibrant food and beverage scene.

Responsibilities

Client Management: 

• Serve as one of the primary points of contact for assigned clients, building strong relationships and understanding their unique goals, target audience, and brand identity.
• Assist in developing and implementing comprehensive PR strategies and campaigns that align with client objectives and drive measurable results.
• Conduct regular client meetings and communications, providing updates, strategic recommendations, and fostering collaborative partnerships.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market insights to identify opportunities for client growth and differentiation.
• Manage and delegate tasks to junior team members on your accounts.

Media Relations:

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with key journalists, food writers, bloggers, influencers, and industry experts within the food and beverage sector in Austin. You come with a Rolodex of Austin media and influencer contacts and have a deep understanding of local media outlets. 
• Craft and pitch compelling story angles, press releases, media alerts, and exclusive opportunities to secure positive media coverage across print, digital, and broadcast platforms.
• Coordinate media interviews, product launches, media tastings, and industry events to maximize media exposure and brand visibility.
• Monitor media coverage and provide regular reports to clients, highlighting key messages, sentiment analysis, and competitive positioning.

Content Development:

• Develop engaging and persuasive written materials, including press releases, media kits, fact sheets, brand narratives, key messages, and long-term PR and marketing strategies. In short, you are an excellent PR writer.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to identify and create compelling content that showcases brand stories, product launches, and industry thought leadership.
• Ensure consistency in brand messaging across various platforms, including social media, websites, newsletters, and promotional materials.
• Contribute to the development of creative and innovative PR initiatives, such as influencer partnerships, community engagement, and brand partnerships.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

• Provide guidance and task delegation to junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including the social media department, to ensure seamless execution of integrated PR campaigns.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions, contributing innovative ideas and strategic insights to enhance client campaigns.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in public relations within the food and beverage industry or related sectors in Austin, TX.
• Strong understanding of the food and beverage industry, including industry trends, key influencers, and media landscape.
• Proven track record of executing successful PR campaigns that generated media coverage and brand awareness in Austin, TX.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and pitch stories effectively.
• Extensive network and proven track record of Austin media contacts within the food and beverage industry, including journalists, bloggers, and influencers.
• Ability to execute campaigns for multiple clients concurrently.

Important Information:

• You must live in Austin at the time of application. While we operate on a hybrid office model, this position requires in-person client relations and networking.
• You have reliable transportation.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in PR and Communications is strongly preferred.
• Two or more years of experience at an agency, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Some night and weekend work is required.
• This is a full-time position.
