Instruction and Curriculum:

Use various communication methods, including sign language (e.g., American Sign Language - ASL), lip-reading, and spoken language, to facilitate learning.
Utilize assistive technology and adapt the curriculum to meet the specific needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
Teach academic subjects, social-emotional skills, self-advocacy, and auditory skills.
Assessment and Evaluation:
Conduct student assessments and evaluations to determine their strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
Monitor student progress and make recommendations for accommodations and modifications to their IEPs.
Analyze test results and make recommendations for placement and services.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with parents, other educators, specialists (e.g., speech therapists, audiologists), and support staff to ensure a comprehensive education for students.
Communicate regularly with families and school staff to update them on student progress and needs.

- Must have active Nebraska TOD License

- Strong behavior management skills to maintain an effective classroom atmosphere.
- Familiarity with Montessori teaching methods is a plus.
- Ability to proofread academic materials for clarity and accuracy.
- Experience in childcare or recreational therapy is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
