Regional Director of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) for our Texas facilities. The Regional Director of EHS is responsible for overseeing and directing all EHS activities across the facilities located in San Antonio area in Texas. This position will lead the Company’s Safety initiatives to ensure all personnel return home at the end of each day.
Responsibilities
- Work safely and effectively independently or as part of a team
- Help to develop and maintain a “Safety as a Value” culture
- Conduct unbiased accident, near miss, and property damage investigations
- Act as liaison between the company and regulatory agencies
- Coordinate the maintenance and implementation of the EHS program, compliance plans and initiatives
- Maintain site compliance with all safety, health and environmental regulations
- Keep abreast of all safety, health and environmental regulatory changes that impact the organization
- Conduct and/or facilitate MSHA Part 46 training
- File appropriate site-level reports with regulatory entities
- Ensure that departmental and company goals and objectives are achieved by participating in short and long-range planning activities
- Daily monitoring of safety practices for compliance
- Conduct and analyze work-place safety observations
- Conduct root cause analysis investigations
- Develop, distribute, communicate and track safety talk/meeting participation
- Participate in risk assessments for non-routine tasks
- Assist with contractor safety oversight
- Attend contractor safety meetings as needed and provide safety leadership
- Conduct/manage IH sampling for respirable silica and noise
- Tabulate safety statistics and generate safety reports
- Participate in regulatory safety inspections
- Assist with drug and alcohol testing program
- Participate in on-call schedule as needed
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety preferred
- 10 years of safety experience at an MSHA Regulated site, either surface or underground.
- Experience training/teaching employees in the field and in the classroom
- Ability to interpret MSHA and OSHA standards and presenting to Inspectors & staff- experience implementing regulatory requirements
- Preparation for the MSHA changes coming in 2026
- Working knowledge of 30 CFR Part 46, 50, 56, and 62
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene
- Strong organizational skills
- Interpersonal skills to work successfully within a team-based environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills
