Position Summary:
Work under general supervision and follow established procedures to maintain accounting records and process accounts payable according to standard accounting procedures.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
- High school diploma or GED
Experience
- 2-3 years administrative experience
- 1 years of experience working within a school district Accounting Department (preferred)
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
- Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, and do word processing.
- Familiarity with Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Proficient in keyboarding, 10-key numerical data entry, and file maintenance.
- Experience in Skyward Accounting System (preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills, strong math skills – attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze, problem solve and multi-task.
- Open to change and willing to learn new skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and follow up on pending issues.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Administrate Company UPS account, setting up users, managing campus and corporate accounts.
- Receive and process UPS invoices for timely payment.
- Handle vendor correspondence via phone or email.
- Receive and handle incoming deposits, researching proper coding and completing remote deposits
- Receive, research and resolve routine internal and external inquiries including communicating the resolution to appropriate persons.
- Work with A/P Manager and A/P Supervisor to ensure successful weekly and monthly check printing, attaching proper documentation and preparing checks for mailing.
- Compile and maintain records as needed.
- Receive incoming calls, answer questions, and direct calls to the appropriate party.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
