Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-Basic)

Job Summary
The EMT-Basic plays a crucial role in providing emergency medical care and transportation to patients in need. This position requires a dedicated individual who is capable of performing under pressure and delivering high-quality patient care in various environments, including pre-hospital and emergency settings. The EMT-Basic will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to assess patient conditions, administer basic life support, and ensure safe transport to medical facilities.

Duties

• Perform patient assessments to determine the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses.
• Administer basic life support techniques, including CPR and airway management.
• Provide critical care during transport, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients.
• Assist in medication administration as per protocols and guidelines.
• Conduct triage assessments in emergency situations to prioritize patient care.
• Lift and move patients safely, utilizing proper techniques to prevent injury.
• Maintain equipment and supplies on the ambulance or emergency response vehicle.
• Document patient information accurately and comprehensively for medical records.
• Collaborate with hospital staff during handoff of patient care at medical facilities.

Qualifications

• Certification as an EMT-Basic from an accredited program.
• Knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to emergency medical care.
• Proficiency in basic life support techniques and airway management procedures.
• Experience or familiarity with emergency room (ER) operations is preferred.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for patient transport.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Commitment to ongoing education and training in emergency medical services.
• Previous experience in critical care settings is a plus but not mandatory.

This position requires a reliable individual as we are a super small company (2 employees) Currently, we mainly run dialysis transports to all of the Gainesville clinics. We are looking for hopefully 1 full time employee that does Not mind working Saturdays.

Our Current Schedule follows-

MWF: 6:00AM to 6:00PM

TTS: 5:30AM to 1:30-2:00PM

Expected hours: 32 – 48 per week

• Evening shift
• Every weekend
