The Chief Financial Officer is primarily responsible for the oversight of the financial management of dealership group with a focus on profitability, internal controls and asset management. Provide sales and expense analysis summarizing potential problem areas and opportunities for improved profitability.
Requirements
Must have 10 years of Automotive accounting experience.
- Oversee and fully comprehend the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
- Processes and generates financial data for all dealership departments, which together represent the accurate financial condition of the business. Provides accurate reporting to Dealer / General Managers to assist with financial planning and budgeting.
- Oversee the completion of monthly financial statements according to dealership guidelines and the manufacturer's format and time frame
- Manage, track, analyze all costs associated with running the business
- Inventory management and valuation
- Manages accounts payables and receivables
- Maintain effective cash management systems
- Directs assessment of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets
- Controls all posted documents
- Assist with reconciliations of assets / liabilities daily, weekly and monthly as needed.
- Approves adjustments to inventory and receivable accounts
- Manage, understand and make corrections to monthly journals, schedules and general ledger while maintaining manufacture specifications.
- Closes month by processing accounting month-end
- Assists with completion of annual review / audit
- Conduct internal audits of all dealerships in compliance with manufacture expectations with a focus on cost of sales accounts
- Ensures compliance with all government regulations and tax authorities
- Ensures the payoff of vehicle floor plan and works with bank representatives
- Oversee and manage payroll
- Oversee and manage office management
- Continually strives to improve data integrity and information reporting throughout the dealership
- Manage all the personal financials for dealership owners
- Prepare and submit the estimated tax payments to the IRS for the businesses that the owners own outside of the dealership business and know how to estimate what the payments should be.
Education and Experience :
Must have at least one year of supervisory experience or equivalent
