Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team in providing high-quality care in an assisted living environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of nursing administration, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA. This role requires a commitment to excellence in patient care, staff development, and operational efficiency.
Duties
- Oversee the nursing department, ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement nursing practices that align with current medical standards and regulations.
- Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and improve outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Manage staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage for acute care needs.
- Conduct regular assessments of patient care quality and implement improvements as necessary.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and current trends in nursing practice.
- Responsible for the administration and management of Nursing Services to residents in accordance with orders of the physicians and total needs of the residents.
- Responsible for 24-hour supervision of Nursing Services and directs the Nursing Department to maintain quality standards of care in accordance with current Federal, State and The Company standards, guidelines and regulations. In absence of the Administrator, assumes the responsibility for center operations.
- The position conducts the nursing process – assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation – under the scope of the State’s Nurse Practice Act of Registered Nurse licensure.
Experience
- Proven experience in nursing management or a similar leadership role within an assisted living or acute care setting.
- Strong understanding of nursing administration principles and practices.
- Familiarity with healthcare systems and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and physiology is essential for effective communication within the team and with patients.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including conflict resolution and decision-making skills.
