Job Description
Job Title: Pickleball Instructor
Department: 4300 Tennis
Reports To: Tennis Program Manager
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Salary Grade: Seasonal
Purpose: Responsible for helping to promote and grow the racquet sports program via teaching Pickleball lessons, clinics, and implementing and managing Pickleball programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assists in growing and promoting the overall program and increasing group and private lessons and assists in clinic requests.
- Teaches lessons and clinics.
- Organizes Socials and Tournaments.
- Provides input on the merchandising and display of all inventory and supplies in the Tennis Pro Shop.
- Researches and provides feedback on marketing and improvement opportunities (i.e. increased sales)
- Answers inquiries regarding programs, events, rules and regulations, and cross-promoting Pickleball with Tennis.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities; however may supervise interns and/or temporary or seasonal employees as required.

Education and Experience – High School diploma or equivalent, plus two years of customer service experience.
Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
Other Skills and Abilities – Requires the ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing. Must be skilled in planning and organizing work, setting priorities, managing multiple tasks simultaneously, meeting critical deadlines, following up on lessons and appointments, and directing the work of others. Must be able to work effectively under pressure with frequent interruptions; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; establish and maintain cooperative and effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work; and exercise exceptional customer service skills at all times.
Other Qualifications - Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Decision-Making & Independence Exercised: Describes the level of authority and/or responsibility to make decisions, develop and revise policies & procedures, make official commitments on behalf of the Association, etc.
Employee follows established policies and procedures; formulates, interprets, or implement management policies or operating practices as required with regard to program operations and job responsibilities; exercises initiative, independent judgment and advanced coaching skills and represent the Association before public audiences as a spokesperson, or in handling complaints, arbitrating disputes or resolving grievances with regard to program operations and job duties/tasks as required..
Tools, Equipment & Machines Used: Requires continuous use of portable electronic devices.
Contacts: Frequent contact with Association members and other visitors for the purpose of providing or exchanging information.
