We provide a person centered one on one or group therapeutic approach to enhance the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We strive to restore the social, emotional, cognitive and physical goals of each client by utilizing various therapeutic recreation interventions, leisure activities and community involvement.
We are seeking a Board Certified Recreational Therapist to join our growing team! We are looking for dedicated and motivated recreational therapist to travel and conduct therapy sessions for clients with intellectual/developmental disabilities in their homes and/or community based facilities. Recreational Therapist must be able to effectively communicate with other professionals, conduct assessments, program plan, implement, document, and evaluate treatment. Punctuality, reliable transportation, and a heart for serving others are all a must.
Recreational Therapists provide individual and group recreational therapy services in the client’s home or local facilities. Therapist must have reliable transportation and willing to drive to and from clients. Therapists are encouraged to take their clients to local community interests for therapy sessions which include but are not limited to local gyms, parks, sporting events, concerts, malls, bowling, swimming pools and more. Therapists are able to maintain their own schedules to meet their specific needs. You will have a chance to build a caseload that works around that schedule. You will have full autonomy on therapeutic interventions and techniques used to work towards completing individual goals and objectives. Responsibilities listed below:
- Working independently managing your own caseload.
- You will be required to assess each client’s needs using a standardized recreational therapy assessment and developing treatment plans.
- Track client’s goals and objectives
- Planning and providing appropriate recreational therapy activities and interventions.
- Completing progress notes, due by the end of each month.
- Attending monthly meetings to report therapy progress with team members.
Schedule:
- Part Time: Contract position
- Monday to Friday: occasional weekends
Education:
- Bachelor's Or Masters
License/Certification:
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (Required) or sitting for your exam
- CPR/AED/FIRST AID Certification ( Preferred)
Requirements:
- Auto Insurance (with 100/300/100 coverage minimum)
- Contractors must have reliable transportation and a willingness to travel to consumer homes and facilities.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Work Location: In person
Salary : $18 - $22
