Position: Reliability Technician
Reports to: Site Maintenance and Reliability Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Overview: The Reliability Technician role will support the maintenance and optimization of sawmill systems and equipment. The position will work closely with the Industrial Planners as well as the operations and maintenance teams to uphold high standards of equipment performance and operational safety.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the execution of maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is operating efficiently and safely.
- Support and perform routine inspections.
- Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis investigations and help determine corrective actions.
- Gather and analyze data related to equipment performance, helping to identify trends and potential issues that may impact reliability.
- Provide technical support to maintenance teams and operators, addressing equipment issues and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs, ensuring compliance with established procedures and standards.
- Monitor equipment performance and assist in the development of performance metrics to track the effectiveness of maintenance activities.
- Assist in training and guiding less experienced team members in best practices for equipment maintenance and reliability.
- Support the execution of preventative maintenance tasks and contribute to the development of maintenance schedules based on equipment condition and performance data.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures, promoting a culture of safety and operational excellence within the team.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Help maintain and utilize site CMMS.
Qualifications:
- Relevant experience in a maintenance or reliability role, or a degree in Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with equipment inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Familiarity with reliability concepts and maintenance practices. Basic knowledge of Microsoft software as well as engineering software like CAD or SolidWorks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze data and contribute to troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a team.
