JOB TITLE – Estimator/Sales

Job Summary

Responsible for preparing and providing estimates to residential and commercial clients who have experienced property damage, and who have an insured property loss/claim or desire capital improvements. The primary focus is to serve as a sales person for the company as well as estimate, negotiate and provide proposals for property work to be performed. Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with property owners and insurance representative is critical for generating additional referrals for business.

Duties And Responsibilities

Responsible for defining the scope, preparing and selling jobs for emergency/mitigation services, reconstruction or construction work, and selling or upselling services on assigned projects.

  • Responds to requests for services within designated timeframes
  • Gathers all necessary field measurements, plans, photos, materials, etc. to prepare estimates.
  • Coordinates site visits with subcontractors to facilitate all information necessary for accurate proposals.
  • Meet with insurance adjusters, if needed, at the customers’ properties.
  • Communicate with clients, architects, engineers, and co-workers to confirm and coordinate all aspects of the work and estimate.
  • Sell and/or upsell services. Report or manage leads.
  • Insure, when needed, all appropriate mortgage company information is obtained, and thoroughly understand the mortgage company’s requirements.
  • Insure all estimates are written with a complete understanding of the insurance company’s/TPA specific requirements.
  • Ensure estimates meet the requirements of profitability as set by the company.
  • Submit estimates to the insurance adjuster.
  • Get Work Authorization/Terms and Conditions contract signed by the client before beginning work.

This position functions as the liaison between the customer and the company.

  • Communicate critical path to recovery with the customer and provide status/updates frequently.

Coordinate work with Superintendent/Production to insure seamless transitions from estimate to project completion and maximize customer satisfaction.

  • Coordinate and update estimates with all hidden damage updates, revisions, change orders and supplements, and coordinate with the adjuster.
  • Attend staff meetings to keep projects and activities running smoothly.

Stay current with the Industry and current trends and personal self-development... This can include participation in industry related workshops, marketing events, formal education and cross-training with co-workers, as appropriate.

Knowledge And Skill Requirements

Education:

Specialized/

Technical (required vs. desired)

  • Associates Degree - Construction or related field
  • Knowledge of fire, smoke, water remediation and reconstruction (IICRC Certifications preferred).
  • 1- 2 years of experience in an insurance restoration setting and working knowledge of residential and/or commercial reconstruction needs.
  • Ability to estimate mitigation and reconstruction projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and restoration job processing software, and insurance claims programs.
  • Sales experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
