Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Outreach Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in building relationships within the community, promoting our initiatives, and engaging with various stakeholders to further our mission. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a commitment to making a positive impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement outreach plans to engage youth and promote our programs.
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Organize and participate in community events, workshops, and presentations.
- Track and report on outreach activities and outcomes.
- Collaborate with program staff to ensure alignment of outreach efforts with program goals.
- Provide support and resources to youth and their families as needed.
- Must possess strong interpersonal and public speaking skills committed to providing respectful, culturally competent communication, including awareness and acceptance of cultural differences; basic knowledge of diverse cultures and environments; and the skills to adapt communication skills to fit the cultural context.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision and in a timely fashion.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required for supporting duties.
- Demonstrated ability to employ critical thinking and effective communication skills, work independently, and make recommendations for new opportunities to advance the mission of Restore 180.
- Working knowledge of schools and the local human services community, including familiarity with local history, organizations, agencies, neighborhoods, and systems is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of agency vision, mission, and services.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and manage multiple projects at one time.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing needs and time pressures.
- Ability to communicate professionally and build relationships with coworkers, volunteers, customers, donors, and vendors.
- Ability to create and sustain positive working relationships at all levels of the agency; internal and external.
Experience
- Proven experience in recruitment and community programs.
- Strong public speaking skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Background in research data collection methods for program evaluation.
- Experience in volunteer management, including training and coordination of activities.
- Familiarity with addiction counseling principles is a plus.
- Knowledge of fundraising strategies and techniques.
- Administrative experience that includes organizing events and managing schedules.
- Proficiency in social media platforms for outreach purposes.
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
