What are the responsibilities and job description for the Donation Lead and Cashier position at ReStore - Habitat for Humanity of Flathead Valley?
Donation Lead -
This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service, completing sales transactions, daily cash handling and simple reconciliations processes. As well as daily store maintenance, adhering to safe and efficient retail practices while honoring and implementing the mission of Habitat for Humanity of Flathead Valley (HFHFV).
Responsibilities May Include:
- Learn the ReStore donation policy and what items are on the acceptable donations pickup list.
- Answer all donation calls promptly and adhere to the approved donation policy.
- Maintain an open dialogue with the ReStore Manager and the donation ambassadors as to the scheduled donations to be picked up.
- Coordinate the logistics for the donation pickups and provide the driver and co-pilot with daily schedules.
- Keep an electronic schedule that can be easily accessed on SharePoint for the donation ambassadors.
- Ensure donation receipts are made available to donors.
- Engage and recruit individual and corporate donors who want to make material (furniture, appliances, equipment, building supplies, etc.) donations to the ReStore.
- Notify the ReStore Manager, Executive Director and Business Manager of all corporate and large individual donations so that they can be appropriately acknowledged.
- Monitor picked up donations to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of the donation policy and suggest changes to the donation policy if needed.
- Deliver excellent customer service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Accurately process sales transactions in the point of sales system including cash, checks, credit cards, gift cards, loyalty, etc. as described in the cash handling procedures in the ReStore Operations Guide.
- Price donated items and inventory based on ReStore Operations Guide.
- Answer incoming calls and respond to voice mails timely.
- Assist with donation receiving and processing.
- Prepare store for opening and closing.
Required:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items, 100 lbs.
- Standing for long periods of time
- Ability to use GPS software
- Basic computer and point of sales system knowledge
Must pass criminal background check and PA child abuse clearance.

Salary: From $18 per hour to start and then $20 per hour after 3 months probation
