We are seeking an experienced Medical Front Desk Office Assistant to join our team. Must have mad organization skills, bring experience in office management, excellent communication skills, patient care, insurance verification/authorization, and documentation. This candidate needs to bring an energetic, and enthusiastic personality to the team as well as empathetic. Our practice is built on ensuring the patient experience is beyond exceptions from the first minute they enter the practice. In addition, we are looking for someone who truly enjoys what they do.
The candidate may have a medical, physical therapy, or chiropractic front desk background. Additionally, the candidate must have insurance knowledge & experience. The role does not include billing the insurance, but does involve verification / authorization and communication with insurance companies as well as communication with our billing team.
Responsibilities / Duties:
- Managing office phone systems, including taking and returning patient calls, scheduling patient appointments, and maintaining communication to confirm future appointments
- Communication with marketing liaison in regards to new patient appointments
- Assist new patients with initial paperwork
- Collect co-pays/payments from patients
- Accurately update and maintain patients' health records
- Performing data entry tasks to document patient records within facility EHR and maintaining patient files
- Process insurance benefits verification and necessary preauthorizations for treatment
- Communication with the billing department in regards to processing claims, patient statements, etc
- Scanning all documents into EHR
- Support office with administrative and secretarial tasks
- Communicate with internal office team and providers to ensure patients are helped and everyday tasks are accomplished
- Understand and maintain HIPAA regulations
- Providing compassionate patient support and care, attention and assistance during office visit
Qualifications for Medical Office Assistant
- Profession, courteous, energetic, empathetic Personality
- 2 years Medical office experience with Insurance knowledge
- Past role as medical billing associate helpful, but not required
- Strong interpersonal, time management, multitasking and organizational skills
- Familiarity with medical and insurance regulations
- Excellent attention to detail
- Patient-oriented communication skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Efficient problem solver
- Strong knowledge of medical language and health insurance plans
- A high school diploma or GED
Clinic Hours
We only see patients 4 days a week , Monday through Thursday. That means a 3 day weekend for all team members at Restore Joint Health. That is a great job benefit in itself. That being said must be able to work 9 to 9.5 hour days, starting at 7:30am -7:45am.
