Diversity & Inclusion: The Foundation to Making Freedom Real

Restore's mission is to make freedom real for survivors of trafficking in the United States. To do that, we desire a staff team that is more representative of the survivors we serve — almost all of whom are Black, Latina, and/or immigrants. Applicants from these underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged to apply. We especially welcome applicants who have lived experience of trafficking or labor exploitation.

About the Position

Restore is seeking a bilingual (Spanish-English) Counselor Advocate to provide holistic case management and trauma-informed clinical counseling to survivors of human trafficking. This role, reporting to the Supervising Counselor Advocate, balances case management and therapy, with separate client caseloads for each. Candidates will gain experience in trauma therapy, receive supervision hours toward licensure, and participate in evidence-based training.

As part of Restore’s Client Services team, you’ll work with adult survivors of all genders, specializing in support for women-identifying individuals. This full-time role (35 hours/week, Mon-Fri, 9-5) requires strong administrative skills, ethical boundaries, and a commitment to survivor restoration.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive case management services for a caseload of up to 13 survivors of trafficking through advocacy, education, and resource coordination
  • Conduct ongoing strengths and needs assessments, safety planning, crisis-prevention plans, impact assessments, and individualized service plans with clients
  • Administer clinical therapy sessions for a caseload of up to 8 survivors, using trauma-informed approaches, under supervision of a licensed clinical supervisor
  • Participate in administrative and operational tasks to ensure quality service delivery and fulfill the organization’s mission
  • Complete required documentation in a timely and professional manner
  • Practice trauma-informed, culturally and linguistically sensitive, survivor-centered practices in all interactions with clients, staff, service-provider organizations, and other stakeholders
  • Attend weekly individual supervision, peer supervision, and other required team meetings
  • Ensure adherence to HIPPA requirements as well as APA, ACA, and NASW ethical guidelines

Requirements

  • Affirm the Nicene Creed and attend a Christian church
  • Fluent and comfortable in providing clinical services in Spanish
  • Experience in conducting bio-psycho-social assessments, crisis intervention, resource coordination, case management, and clinical counseling
  • Success in roles requiring execution of multiple tasks while responding to multiple priorities and ability to prioritize client’s needs
  • Experience working with individuals impacted by trauma and working with immigrants and/or other individuals navigating systemic challenges
  • Proficiency in trauma-informed care, survivor-centered practices, and culture-humility
  • Excellent relational skills and engagement with survivors
  • Strong soft skills, including resilience, adaptability, empathy, humility, active listening, collaboration, and problem-solving
  • Advanced in computer skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Strongly believe and support DEI in organizational cultures and direct services
  • Deep commitment to the healing and well-being of survivors of trafficking
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • MSW, MHC, MSW-LP, MHC-LP, LMSW, LMHC, or LCSW preferred
  • Experience or training in trauma therapy modalities (e.g., EMDR, TF-CBT, or IFS)
  • Familiarity with co-occurring disorders and experience in addressing complex trauma and adjustment challenges in a non-pathologizing manner

Compensation

The salary range is $65,000-70,000. Restore provides a comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k) matching, HSA/FSA, 15 vacation days, four spiritual retreat days, unlimited sick days, parental leave, a flex-time policy, major medical, vision, dental, life and disability insurance, and commuter benefits.
