Associate” position at Restore Orthopedics and Sports Medicine
We are looking for a driven, organized, and hardworking Medical Assistant to join our team at
Restore Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Our clinic is a small, innovative orthopedics office
that is committed to minimally invasive treatments for a spectrum of orthopedic injuries and
disease. Our founder has been active in the field of Orthopedic Surgery for 15 years, and has
recently expanded treatment options in the field of Interventional Orthopedics, which includes
Orthobiologic treatments such as Platelet Rich Plasma and Cellular Therapy treatments for
orthopedic issues. Our team provides amazing, personalized care for our patients; focusing on
optimizing wellness and health to return our patients to their healthy, active lifestyle.
Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities of the Orthopedic Medical Assistant/Operations
Associate
An Orthopedic Medical Assistant provides care for patients suffering from musculoskeletal
diseases and deficits. The MA is responsible for:
- Post-operative care (ie. wound care, suture removal)
- Performing blood draws, processing blood in our in-site lab
- Assisting in regenerative therapy procedures
- Rooming patients, taking vital signs
- Chart-prepping
- Brace fitting
- Ordering and stocking medical and office supplies
- Provide patient education
- Charting in our EMR
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Other tasks as assigned by the physician.
Candidates must have a positive attitude and a willingness to work as a team.
- Must hold and maintain a current certification to practice as a Medical Assistant in
California (CMA, CCMA, or NCMA).
- Confident and proficient with blood draws.
- Ongoing pursuit of Continuing Education Credits in clinical subjects, management,
personal growth and development.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of infection control principles and maintaining sterile
field practices.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and positively with staff, patients and family
members.
- Basic computer knowledge within Microsoft and ability with an aptitude to learn company
EMR systems.
- Assist with office duties such as faxing, email, and scanning documentation into the
patient’s chart.
- Must be capable of maintaining regular, full time attendance.
- Must meet all local health regulations and pass a post-employment physical exam if
required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background
investigation and reference inquiry.
- Recent clinical experience, education, or specialty skills specific to orthopedics.
- Collaborate with the physician to perform treatments on patients with musculoskeletal
conditions.
- Willing and eager to learn new skills and work to the full extent of your expertise
You'll be successful with the following qualifications:
Education:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
- Associates/Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education/related
experience: Preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification: Required
- Blood draw certification: Required
- Current Medical Assistant certification: Required
Work Experience: 1 year of experience working as an MA Required (in orthopedic office
preferred)
