Job Summary
This position requires a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. The successful candidate will lead and direct the overall operation of the Outpatient clinic, ensuring excellent care for clients while achieving business objectives.
Key Qualifications
- Licensed or registered therapist in good standing, meeting applicable federal and state licensure requirements.
- Completion of post-secondary education or ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Knowledgeable about rehabilitative and restorative therapy practices.
- Patient advocate with a positive attitude.
- Knowledgeable of standards of practice for evaluation and treatment in PT, OT, and ST.
- Able to communicate and train others in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
Essential Job Functions
Administrative Function
- Work with clients, communities, and Home Office management, staff, supervisor, and consultants to plan outpatient clinic aspects. Monitor each discipline's activities, communicate policies, evaluate performance, and provide feedback as necessary.
- Ensure current therapy policies, procedures, manuals, and reference materials are reviewed with staff, including changes and/or updates. Monitor work schedules to ensure appropriate staffing and scheduling is working properly.
- Monitor missed visits to identify potential underlying problems.
- Monitor overall operations of the clinic to ensure it operates appropriately, effectively, and efficiently.
Continuous Quality Improvement Function
- Conduct regular chart audits to monitor proper delivery of therapy services.
- Develop and implement plans to correct quality issues and prevent future reoccurrences.
- Monitor delivery of therapy services to ensure client needs are addressed proactively.
- Develop and maintain a functioning quality improvement program.
Teamwork Function
- Ensure Regional Director or Operations, Director of Clinical Services, and Home Office staff are utilized appropriately, maintaining high interdepartmental teamwork levels.
- Communicate effectively with therapy staff, contractors, administration, and other department heads on a regular basis.
- Participate in facility and community meetings and programs as needed.
- Communicate with Executive Director and Area Director of Outpatient Services regarding department programs, goals, objectives, problems, and successes.
- Communicate with physicians regarding client progress and department programs.
- Market the Outpatient clinic, including marketing to physicians within the community as needed.
- Attend community events and work as needed with activities to involve the therapy team.
Client Rights Function
- Maintain client confidentiality.
- Treat clients with kindness, dignity, and respect.
- Know and comply with Client Rights/Rules and ensure all personnel are knowledgeable and in compliance.
- Monitor therapy services to ensure client rights are maintained at all times.
- Understand, comply with, and promote rules and regulations regarding client rights, including privacy of medical records and other sensitive information.
Personnel Function
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and Company policies.
- Lead the team to achieve high morale and staff retention.
- Maintain a positive work environment through effective communication, prompt problem resolution, and positive supervisory practices.
- Responsible for orienting all therapy staff.
- Complete performance reviews on all department employees.
- Assist each employee in developing and maximizing their performance ability.
Budgetary Function
- Responsible for developing revenue and controlling expenditures to meet budgetary requirements.
- Monitor therapy reports to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.
- Ensure all clients admitted to outpatient services receive appropriate quality care, coverage criteria met, and service delivery documented accurately and effectively.
- Monitor business activities to ensure established procedures and standards of practice are followed, and sound credible business practices are followed at all times.
- Ensure all billing documents are completed timely and per established policies and procedures.
- Ensure billing accurately reflects the services delivered.
Education Function
- Supervise, conduct, and participate in department and facility education activities and staff meetings as needed.
- Maintain professional competence through participation in the Company's continuing education programs, seminars, and training programs.
Safety and Sanitation Function
- Ensure staff is trained in emergency, safety, and evacuation protocols.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during any and all therapy sessions.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety of therapy and treatment areas, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensure mandatory fire drills are being conducted.
- Ensure universal precautions and infection control, isolation, fire, safety, and sanitation practices and procedures are being followed.
Regulatory Compliance Function
- Maintain a working knowledge of and ensure compliance with all governmental regulations.
- Ensure the clinic adheres to the Company's Code of Ethics and Compliance policy expectations.
Other
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
