This position will oversee the finances, profitability and the day-to-day construction putback of projects from inception through completion and has primary responsibility for managing client expectations. Job Summary:
The Large Loss Project Manager is responsible for managing large-scale property damage restoration or construction projects from start to finish. This includes coordinating with insurance adjusters, contractors, and clients, ensuring that the project is completed safely, efficiently, and within the established time frame and budget. The role demands excellent leadership skills, strong technical knowledge, and an ability to navigate complex projects involving significant property losses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage large loss restoration or construction projects, including assessing the scope of work, timeline, and budget.
- Coordinate and communicate with clients, insurance companies, adjusters, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule and ensure timely completion of milestones.
- Oversee project budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled and within the agreed-upon limits.
- Review and approve project-related invoices and change orders.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to prevent project delays or cost overruns.
- Ensure all projects comply with local regulations, safety standards, and insurance policies.
- Maintain and oversee safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure high-quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor the work of contractors and subcontractors, providing guidance and feedback as necessary.
- Conduct inspections to ensure that all work is completed according to plan and specifications.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on project progress and addressing any concerns.
- Prepare and present detailed project reports to clients and stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project.
- Supervise and lead a team of project coordinators, contractors, and other professionals.
- Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations for team members.
- Ensure clear communication among the project team, addressing any conflicts or issues that arise.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and implement improvements for future projects.
- Review and document all aspects of the project, ensuring that all work is completed to satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on large losses, restoration, or construction projects. Experience with insurance claims is highly desirable.
Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a drug test, background check and have a valid driver's license
- Experience in the water and fire restoration industry is a plus, but not required
- Must have Large Loss experience
- Must have experience with structural framing
- IICRC Certifications Preferred
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Buildertrend).
- In-depth knowledge of construction, restoration processes, and building codes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize tasks.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
Certifications (Preferred but not required):
- PMP (Project Management Professional)
- IICRC (Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification)
- LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accreditation
- Insurance industry-specific certifications (e.g., Adjuster License)
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, with some travel required depending on project location.
- Ability to work in varying environments, including on-site construction or restoration sites.
- Flexible work hours, including nights and weekends, depending on the project demands.
Salary: $70000-$90,000 plus commission
