Job Title: Behavior Technician
Location: Restoring Freedom Recovery Center
Job Summary:
As a Behavior Technician at our residential substance abuse treatment center, you will play a crucial role in supporting the therapeutic process for individuals in recovery. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in implementing behavior intervention plans, monitoring patient progress, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for clients. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate effective treatment and contribute to the overall success of our programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Behavioral Intervention:
- Assist in the implementation of individualized behavior intervention plans based on client assessments and treatment goals.
- Monitor and record client behaviors, noting any changes or progress in behavior patterns.
- Use positive reinforcement techniques and behavioral strategies to promote desired behaviors and manage challenging behaviors.
- Client Support:
- Provide direct support to clients, helping them with daily activities, including personal care, group interactions, and therapeutic exercises.
- Encourage and motivate clients to participate actively in their treatment plans and group sessions.
- Data Collection and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and timely records of client behaviors, treatment progress, and any incidents or concerns.
- Prepare reports and provide feedback to the treatment team regarding client progress and behavioral observations.
- Safety and Supervision:
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for all clients, adhering to facility protocols and emergency procedures.
- Supervise clients during activities and maintain a vigilant presence to prevent and address any safety or behavioral issues.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with counselors, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and support client treatment plans.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions about client progress, treatment strategies, and program improvements.
- Training and Development:
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in behavioral interventions and substance abuse treatment.
- Implement new techniques and strategies as advised by the treatment team.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a behavioral health or substance abuse treatment setting is highly desirable. Experience with behavioral interventions and client support is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques and interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require working irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- The role involves direct interaction with clients in a residential treatment setting.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and assist clients as needed.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods.

- Weekends as needed
