Revenue Cycle Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Revenue Cycle Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the revenue cycle processes, ensuring accurate medical coding, billing, and collections. You will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of our organization by ensuring that all claims are processed efficiently and accurately.

Duties

• Review and analyze patient medical records to ensure accurate coding using ICD-10 and ICD-9 standards.
• Perform medical billing tasks, including submitting claims to insurance companies and following up on unpaid claims.
• Utilize medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare providers and insurance representatives.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Conduct medical collections activities as necessary, working with patients and insurance companies to resolve billing issues.
• Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle Manager to streamline processes and improve revenue cycle efficiency.
• Stay updated on changes in coding regulations, billing practices, and insurance policies to ensure compliance.

Experience

• Previous experience in medical coding, billing, or revenue cycle management is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and coding systems is essential.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
