Resurrection has an opening for a Director of Recovery Ministries in our Care & Mental Wellness division! The position is full-time, exempt and is located at the Leawood campus at 13720 Roe Ave. Please see below for a full job description.
Job Summary
The Director of Recovery Ministries provides leadership for all aspects of the Resurrection Recovery Ministries churchwide through visioning and strategy building for the ministry, small group teaching, volunteer supervision, pastoral care, quality control and communication.

Position specific
- Able to lead, teach and facilitate care groups specifically around the topic of addiction/substance use disorder.
- Recruit, manage, motivate, and equip volunteers for Resurrection Recovery Ministries.
- Provide strategic planning, visioning and expansion for Resurrection Recovery ministries.
- Follow-up on daily communication: emails and phone calls.
- Select or develop appropriate curricula for programming for Resurrection Recovery ministries.
- Create and manage the ministry budget for Resurrection Recovery ministries.
- Provide leadership and direction for evangelism and promotions to attract individuals to the Resurrection Recovery ministries.
- Research, pursue and oversee any grant applications relating to Resurrection Recovery ministries.
- In concert with the Executive Director, develop and maintain ministry standards of care.
- Extend Christian hospitality, values, compassion and healing throughout the Recovery ministry.
- Research church-based recovery ministries, benchmarking our program and identifying areas for continued improvement. Implement improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Able to organize, coordinate, and complete tasks to meet scheduled deadlines.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with proven track record of developing quality relationships; a recognized aptitude for interpersonal engagement, structured dialogue, and diplomacy.
- Able to conduct one-on-one pastoral counseling sessions as needed.
- Able to pastor people in need through pastoral counseling and spiritual guidance.
- Experience in building, leading, and directing teams of volunteers.
- Has a background in recovery principles, including thorough knowledge of the 12-step programs.
- Proven results in teaching biblical principles in relation to recovery.
- An elder, deacon, or licensed local pastor in the United Methodist Church, or the willingness to pursue a track to become a licensed local pastor in the United Methodist Church.
- Is a part of or has participated in a recovery program.
