Job Summary
The Student Ministry Associate will be responsible for building relationships on and off-site alongside the Leawood Student Ministry team, primarily at the Leawood Location. This position will focus on relational ministry with students through programs, events, retreats, trips, and new connection points. As a member of the Student Ministry Team, this position will assist in the planning and leadership of weekly student ministry programming at Leawood, outreach to new and returning students, and creating new outreach opportunities to connect with non and nominally religious students. The responsibilities would involve Leawood-specific mid-week planning meetings, Wednesday and Sunday programming and preparation time, developing new relationship building opportunities to meet students, and supporting retreat and event experiences.

Position-Specific
- Builds community and relationships with students through Youth Group, Discipleship Groups, and off-site connectional experiences.
- Assist in the planning and execution of community building events and experiences for the Leawood Student Ministry within, and outside of, weekly programming.
- Assist in communication to students and families, specifically first time students and families.
- Develop outreach opportunities to build connections with students in our local community.
- Provide support and leadership during weekly programming at Leawood Student Ministry.
- In collaboration with the Resurrection Leawood Director of Student Ministries, assist and participate in the weekly planning of student events including Wednesday Night Youth Group, Sunday morning programming, Confirmation, and Discipleship Groups as the primary responsibility
- Provide leadership and be a presence in all Student events, trips, and retreats that occur throughout the year as needed. Typical expectation would be 1 serve trip a year.
- Provide spiritual leadership, looking for opportunities to minister to and disciple and encourage others to grow in Christ through outreach opportunities
- In collaboration with the Resurrection Leawood Director of Student Ministries, recruit, manage, motivate, and equip volunteers. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Experience with building relationships with middle and high school students, and volunteers

- Proven experience in communication and collaboration
- Knowledge of student ministry and student development
- Able to relate to and lead students from various backgrounds
