Description
The I-ed Elementary Teacher is responsible for ensuring students with seeming or diagnosed learning needs receive best-practice instruction. This position will undergird the school’s ability to identify and help those with existing and emerging needs to meet their God-given potential and succeed within the framework of RCS and the identified learning standards.
ABOUT RCS:
Resurrection Christian School is a private, non-denominational Christian college-preparatory school located in Loveland, Colorado. Founded in 1998 by Rez.Church, Resurrection Christian School serves students from Pre-K through 12th grade. RCS is the largest Christian school in Northern Colorado, serving over 1100 families from 19 communities over a 25-mile radius. School enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year is approximately 1,470 students. RCS is fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI); AdvancED.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build Christ-centered relationships with students, families, and staff
- Provide a positive learning environment to promote students who are Boldly Christian, Academically Equipped, and Globally Prepared
- Conduct small group instruction with students on reading and writing concepts relevant to goals and grade-level standards (K-8)
- Help students develop proficient reading skills that will contribute to their academic growth
- Provide research-based, specialized instruction to meet individual student needs
- Adapt/modify materials to meet individual student needs
- Assist classroom teacher in adapting classroom materials to meet student needs for subject areas other than ELA.
- Assess student reading and writing levels and monitor all academic testing
- Collaborate and consult with I-ed staff on student progress and needs
- Create SMART goals and classroom modifications and accommodations for each student in ELA
- Maintain accurate records of progress monitoring of student performance and goal tracking (quarterly)
- Participate in team meetings and professional development as needed
- Collaborate with other elementary and I-ed teachers
- Partner strongly with parents in the education and discipleship of their children

KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of the rules and regulations set forth by the Colorado Board of Education and ACSI Practices in Christian Schools.
- Knowledge of mandated reporting of child abuse and neglect.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other department-related software packages.
- Knowledge of diagnostic tests, and writing and interpretation of evaluation results.

COMPENSATION and BENEFITS:
Salary Range: $44,275 - $93,217 Depending on education and years of experience.

Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree with proper teaching licensure/certification and endorsements is required. Must have experience in instructing students in a classroom setting. A special education license or endorsement is preferred. Reading intervention endorsement or experience is also preferred.
Working knowledge of the subject matter assigned, classroom management, best practices and strategies, as well as the understanding of diverse student learning styles and needs is required. Possessing or able to receive qualifications in the ability to administer, analyze, and write both cognitive and achievement testing and reports.
Must have excellent planning skills, be highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and able to adapt to changing environments and priorities. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work productively and meet benchmarks and goals in a timely fashion. Strong interpersonal, organizational, facilitation and management skills are required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The I-ed Elementary ELA Teacher position requires intermittent physical activity including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting of up to 40lbs on occasion. Must be able to talk, hear, stand, sit, and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must possess normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
