What are the responsibilities and job description for the Toddler Teacher position at Resurrection Lutheran School and Child Care?
An Infant/Toddler Teacher will provide a nurturing and safe environment for infants and toddlers to develop and reach age appropriate milestones. You will demonstrate good judgement in the care and play with each infant assigned to you. You will verbally engage the infants throughout the day in addition to incorporating play activities. You will maintain the feeding schedule with the bottles and solids provided by the parents.
The ideal candidate will be a caring individual who enjoys teaching young children with the ability to lift up to 30 pounds. You will have a GED or H.S. diploma and have completed the VDSS Preservice trainings. You will have the flexibility to work a shift between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm and have reliable transportation to the center to ensure consistency for the infants. A background check and fingerprinting are essential before an offer an be extended.
Responsibilities for Infant/Toddler Teacher
- Provide a safe and loving environment for the infants in his/her care
- Give bottles to infants as provided by parents
- Feed infants' solid foods as age appropriate and provided by parents
- Change diapers as needed
- Soothe infants by singing to and cuddling them
- Supervise infants on the floor as they play with age appropriate toys
- Put infants in cribs for nap time
- Ensure play, sleep and changing areas are kept clean
Qualifications for Infant/Toddler Teacher
- Completion of the Early Childhood courses as designed by the state authority
- Meet annual professional development requirements, per state regulations
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
- Caring individual who enjoys teaching young children
- Able to lift up to 30 pounds
- Extended periods of time sitting on the floor
- Ability to work a shift in between 6:00 am _ 6:00 pm that changes weekly
- Reliable transportation to the center
- Great customer service skills to communicate effectively with parents
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.50 per hour
